Thoughts and musings: 3/12/02

General Thoughts: The 'Musically' section says it all really. Nothing much to add, other than the whole AIDS awareness thing this week. I'm really happy about what MTV are doing, getting the pop, rock and hip hop stars to make documentries about HIV and AIDS and really getting everyone to understand it a lot better. The music industry could actually do a lot more with the millions of dollars that must be flying around... but it's a start.

Also, I've set up a new forum on the Express Yourself message board that deals with sexuality. I'm totally in charge of this forum, which is an honor in itself, and Aly is talking about making me a 'global moderator' which means I'd have power over every aspect of the board like she has. I've been going to the boards for a couple of years now, so it's awesome to be able to give something back.

The sexuality forum has been a good place for me to come out about stuff too. All the struggle I've had with bi-sexuality and fetish has been fairly easy to tell everyone. My head feels less heavy for it too. If you wanna read it then go ahead (the forum is called 'Sexuality & Love') but it's deep stuff.

Musically: Well let's see... first of all I have a gig this week! My first ever lil gig thing! I'm a tad excited about that I can tell ya! Fair enough, it's only in the bar at college, but the point is that I'll be playing my songs and people will hear them. That's good enough for me.

Hopefully I can get someone to record the gig on tape, and then I could give it to my friend Stu for him to mix. Not only that, but he can transfer it to both CD and MP3, so I can put the eight or nine songs I do online for the world to hear. A CD wouldn't go amiss either, since I could get it copied a few times and give it to friends. They copy it, pass it on, and before ya know it Lynchy has a fan base! Girls queing outside the door screaming my name and saying they wanna have my kids!!!

Okay... I got a bit carried away there... but it's still a cool developement. How far I push this is now up to me. That's a very liberating thought. The ball is finally in my court now, and my next actions will form events the way I intend. I've never had that power to this extent before, so it feels great!

System Of A Down have released a new album recently too. It's got to be their best so far, and that takes some doing! 16 tracks that flow into each other brilliantly as well as make you think about what you're listening to. Great stuff.

How I feel: Pretty damn good for a change. The next few weeks are going to be really interesting, with all the music and stuff. Plus, of course, it's coming up to Christmas, and I've always loved the atmosphere of Crimbo. A greedy cash-in on Christianity it may be, but it still rocks. After all the shit that Christianity is responsible for, I don't think it's too much to ask to have something back.

That's just my opinion. Sorry hehe
